PART 3- This Week Through YOUR m4/3 2014.11.15 -PART 3

I agree, I'm going to try and switch to MF and see how it goes. What surprised me most was that with some images I got AF confirmation but it was totally out. Must have been the low light levels.

Txs for your camment. I did spend some time with each situation and took multiple shots. Not all came out sharp BTW, a lot of OOF shots but when it nailed focus the images were really sharp.

The trees have already shed their leaves but the Ivy marches on.

That's a nicely rendered group of images. The textures definitely pop in b&w. I do wish the first image was wider so the tops of the buildings were not cut off.

Very neat!

The first one is really surreal and the second is a B&W within a colour image.

Both very original and effective.

The first one left me a bit unmoved, #2 was interesting but then wham! #3 appears...brilliant shot. But (and forgive me Yaelle, I can't stop myself saying it) does it tilt to the left a tiny bit?

If you hadn't said I'd have thought they were conifers!

I like the B&W conversions here. Would you like to share your conversion workflow?

Dil

No 3 for me. Very nice.

These are very stylish. First and last work best for me.
Stylish is my middle name. The last in the set is my favourite.
Tried defishing (or at least straightening a horizon) with Hugin but struggled a bit.
It's a tricky piece of software I used this tutorial when I started but there is not much help on the web. It's been a painful learning curve and I still swear a lot when I have to use it.
Thanks - bookmarked. I tried these vids

but what he does doesn't seem to work on my PC.
I had a look - I never had any luck getting the control points to work though I tried. I assume you're talking about an FE image here? Were you trying to level it or to de-fish?

But dammit, what I want to know is how you got into my hallway? Did you sweet-talk my butler or summat?
You live in Somerset House? I would have been nicer to you if I'd known.

I love the humour in these. They are well observed and make a wonderful little collection.

Actually I also took a photo of the Scottish piper on Westminster Bridge. It was the weekend before the Scottish Independence referendum, and I thought it might make a rather ironic photo. But they voted to stay in the Union, and it is now just another second rate Street photo.....and looking at yours just rubs it in!

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it out.

Third is a stunner again and I rather like the 4th too.

Well, the most important part of the workflow was to pass the image from Lightroom to Silver Efex Pro (was from Nik Software, but is now Google).

After that use a preset with plenty of structure and just adjust the blacks, whites and structure.

All finished in less time than you could pour out the chemicals in the not too distant past :-)

Pete

I love the first and the texture in the second is great.

Very nice conversions - I like Silver Effex a lot too.

Welcome to the thread. You've captured a nice gentle sunset and the wind generator adds some interest to the treeline.
