- 1" sensor with lower noise and better dynamic range.
- Usable burst mode.
- Remote control.

I do realize that it approximates the usable diagonal of a 1" TV Camera Tube, which is where it gets its classification. I don't care what they call it - it's still 4X larger, with all the benefits that brings to the table. The OP simply wants to take advantage of his extra glass - what's so wrong with that? He can likely get relatively close with his FZ1000 + T/C without the lack of features that hinders the FZ70.At the cost of inevitable IQ degradatio from extra glass and several more external surfaces for diret
I hope you realize that there is no dimension on a '1" sensor' which is even close to an inch, not even the diagonal.
You are correct; the results will not be very good. The Nikon unit is OK but well short of the performance of the FZ1000 itself. There are telephoto extenders that work properly, however. The following images illustrate the point. Sorry they were taken with a Sony DSC-RX10, the FZ1000's direct rival, but I haven't made up my mind about the FZ1000 yet so I don't have one to work with...400 mm zoom + 1.7x expensive converter = 680mm

Thank you for the kind words! So far the best TC-solution for RX10/FZ1000 I have seen. The Sony VCL seems to be a better fit for these big lenses and your comparison shots clearly show not only magnification but accordingly improved detail as well. Contrast also looks unaffected by the addition of the glass. All in all the same magic as the Nikon TC provides for us on the cams with smaller lenses like FZ200.
I particularely like the bajonet-adapter. This will surely make you use it more often than if you had to screw the TC on and off.
Is this setup for tripod use only or can it be handheld ? -Looks rather massive! Whats the total weight of this combo?
Thanks for a great contribution!
