I've never used Flickr before so I hope this link works.

Have been busy with work since I got home and have not had time to post-process pictures. However, the FZ1000 didn't let me down. I'm really glad I had an ipad with me so I could sneak preview and know the photos were all right.

Hope this works.

There were some beautiful images on your Flickr site Ruth. The zebras were excellent, as were the leopard shots and the animal with the horns (don't know what it was). I can see why you were happy that you took that camera.

Hello Ruthie,

I enjoyed looking at your photographs. What a nice trip. I hope to do the same some day!

Terrific set of photos, Ruth! Hope you upload some more! Great shots of the leopard! Hans

Attractive "Africaan" series, well conducted, Ruth.. congratulations on the new camera and thanks for virtual visit to SA, ;) ..

Best regards,

what a great trip and beautiful photo's !!

thanks for sharing here :)

greetings, Ella

Wow, where did you see that? Those historic animals have become very rare. When I travelled ZA I only saw them depicted in Cave paintings.

I have to join the chorus - excellent series of shots. I'm jealous of your leopards and rhinos. We saw plenty of elephants and lions in Tanzania and Kenya, but only one leopard, and no rhinos in the wild.

Ruth,

I hope you don't mind...something about this photo made me download it and enhance it just a little, something I have never done before to anyone's photos posted here.

Nice work with that FZK. I quite enjoyed your photo gallery.

I'm not expert ... strictly an amateur. These were fortunate circumstances – good light, very close, subjects not moving in most cases.

By the way, I totally failed the night before the lion ate his buffalo. The light was on the lion and not in the jeep. I had NO CLUE what to do to capture the scene right after the kill.

I don't mind at all. As I said, I'm really busy with work and have done little or no post-processing. What did you do to this picture and in what app? Thanks.

Great, great shots... not bad for a point-n-shoot... ;)

Thank you. All I know is the camera worked in my inexperienced hands and the opportunity was pluperfect. This was my husband's dream trip and although he isn't in perfect health, we decided to go for it. I'm so thankful for the opportunity and the excellent conditions.

"...Not bad for a point and shoot." Harumph! I know there are many who would argue that the FZ1000 is very far from a traditional "point and shoot" camera - and they'd be correct, IMO. Also, again IMO, Ruth's images are excellent, for any sort of camera - especially since she's made it clear that she hasn't processed them at all.
