I was wondering if it's okay to leave the USB connector cord attached to the computer at all times, even when not attached to the camera? It's certainly easier than connecting it to the back of the computer every time, but I was unsure if it causes any drain on the computer's memory or has any other negative impact. Thanks.

I leave mine connected all the time. I'm sure there's no adverse effect.

PC will not suffer :-) Since all plugs depend on spring pressure to work, leaving something plugged-in will eventually lower the spring force. But in this case, I do not think you will have to change the USB socket in the life of the PC.
