Hi everyone, I am new to photography, and, consequently, to this web site
I recently bought an F717 and it is my first decent camera. As a result of the fantastic photos I'm churning out (most times despite myself) I have been bitten by the photography 'shutterbug.'
In the last week I have shot no fewer than 1000 shots, and have been devouring all I can on the subject.
Anyway, here is my dilemna....I am ready for lenses, and have decided to go with a telephoto first of all. I have found myself sometimes wanting for a little more Optical zoom for candids and wildlife. After scouring the web for days, I have found nothing regarding the quality of the telephoto lenses available for the Sony F717. I am inclined to buy the actual Sony 1.7x telephoto, but $299 is rather high (I have found it for a little less, but stil....) and I have absolutely no idea the quality boost I would get over a different telephoto.
Does anyone here know about the quality difference between the Sony Zeiss telephoto or any other comparably priced (or cheaper, of course
lens? I am more than willing to pay $299 for the Sony lens if it will be the most worthwhile. I just need advice and help from you guys.
Thanks a ton for your help in advance, I should be around these forums quite often from now on.
