I stop in on this site once in a while to get ideas or troubleshoot something, and I finally decided to make myself an account and introduce myself!

I'm Nick, a self-taught photographer from Denver, CO. I have been using a HX100v since about 2011, and upgraded to the HX300 earlier this year! I specialize in mainly car photography, but I do family and senior photos as well and basically I just shoot whatever catches my eye... animals, trains, textures, etc.. :)

Here's some of the shots i've done!

Welcome to the Forum!

Do you use any kind PP (picture processing) for you shots?

The cat is lovely catch but should be some more cropped and check if it in some focus. I have similar to yours bridge camera and love use it:

Here is baby goose after a little touch in LR5 (lightroom).

Thanks for the feedback! The cat was taken in my early days when I had my first HX100v. I have a cropped version available but for some reason I have always been attracted to this one more.

I have yet to get into a true DSLR, but I've really developed my own style in superzoom photography. I have an old Pentax SLR from 1988 that I still shoot with for fun sometimes :)

As far as photo processing, I try to spend as little to no time editing my shots, i'd say more than half are straight dumps from the camera, such as the black Rolls Royce and an older picture of my son (below) But for basics stuff like lighting or color correction, I use a free program called Photoscape. It's very handy and has lots of tools! Here's some more random stuff, including one of my first attempts at tilt-shift photography over a rail yard that I used to work at.

That's a very pretty cat! More importantly, what kind of Cybershot do you have? And why does the EXIF show shutter speed as 10/500, shouldn't it just say 1/50? lol

The one for the photo was probably DSC-F707

Now I'm using the RX100 and RX10. Also have 2 R1's and H-5 HX400.
