There is always construction going on where I live, and I have been recording it for some time now. The ZR800 is valuable in this environment because of its long zoom and good stabilisation.

Well done, Rube. Different from usual photos showing very interesting industrial subjects.

Congratulations and thanks for showing us your work.

Kind regards,

Joao

Joan,

Thank you for looking and for your kind words.

Hi Rube, Those pictures really tell a story. The colors are fantastic. What saturation level are you using, if any.

Sat +2, Sharpness +1, contrast +1. If the ZR had a raw only (with no jpeg) than I would use that and adjust to taste in post.

And thanks!

Hi Rube, I'll try those settings as I really like the colors and sharpness.

nice photo, but everyone a bit red, like they swallowed one too many carrots.

Nice set! I especially like #1 and 3 with the geometry of the piping. After seeing these and reading your post, I boosted the color saturation on my ZR700 and experimented with the sharpness, too--much improved now, imo, thanks. :)

Re: skin tones. Have you ever tried the skin tone/"makeup" feature? I see there are 12 options for it, and I'm kind of curious to see what it does that warrants giving us that amount of variation/choice.

Unfortunately, so far, I've been unsuccessful in convincing family members to pose while I figure it out. Maybe someone else will have some success and share their results.

Thanks, I am glad you liked them

And no, I haven't messed with those settings. Usually, I would rather set up a camera the way I want it (set it and forget it) and then not fiddle with it much anymore, saving alterations to post. Of course I do adjust some stuff: EV, zoom, sometimes meetering . . .
