Recommend a comfortable neck or sling strap for EM-10

They said it was imported :-D

For illustration only as any brand will do:

Keeps the camera on my chest for fast access, no strap to slip off my shoulder, no neck only strap to give me a sore neck, and it keeps my hands free while not taking photos.

I got this, and am really happy with it. Very smooth feel. No padding, but I didn't want the bulk, just some extra width and length. And inexpensive.

+1 for the OpTech system. Allows speedy swap between their wrist strap and sling strap. I have connectors on several different cameras. Click and go!

Call me old-fashioned...or paranoid...but I can't get comfortable with sling straps that attach via the tripod mount.

the dsptch system uses the op/tech style buckles, so you can mix and match. and evidently you can turn the dsptch strap into a sling although i can find no instructions for doing so.

and op/tech has their own sling which uses their connector and not the tripod socket, but i wouldn't trust it with anything heavier than a compact camera.

i don't like the tripod connector on the blackrapid which i think is overkill for anything lighter than a full frame/large lens combo. i got a joby one last week which is just right for my m43 system, but it too uses the tripod socket although, like the black rapid, you can use a tripod plate for quick disconnects if that's the issue.

i'm of the same opinion that attaching via the tripod socket makes me uncomfortable, and i'm constantly checking the tightness.

Thanks for the info on dsptch and OpTech compatibility. I wasn't aware.

same config here for my rx100. see below for a 3rd option ...

here's my very favorite op/tech bundle--a strap, a wrist strap, and a thumb strap (with skulls--perfect for halloween!) which can all be interchanged. the problem is their lightweight construction and i wouldn't trust any of these items with anything much heavier than a small, light m43 body with a small, light lens.

btw, the thumb cuff is surprisingly useful for the rx100 and similar-sized cameras.

Re. the weight issue: don't forget that OpTech attachments come in two sizes. I like the larger size for everything except my small P&S.

I use a Peak Design Leash and Cuff. I also have a Gordy's neck strap/ wrist strap combo, but I don't use it because I like the quick change capabilities of the Peak Design. My camera also rarely spends much time hanging from my neck.
I use Peak Design Leash and Cuff as well https://peakdesignltd.com. I switch between them depending on what I'm carrying at the time. Great design and good quality.

I use a combination of Op/Tech connectors and extensions to create a long strap/neck strap/wrist strap simply by adding or removing sections of the "creation". Works for me. I also do business with Strapworks and purchase webbing in various sizes and lengths. They also have plastic and metal hardware. It is pretty easy to create a strap to your own specifications.

After all the other responses, this may come as an afterthought.

Sling straps and wrist straps are not mutually exclusive: In my ThinkTankPhoto MirrorlessMover 30i are an E-M1 with a Gordy sling strap + a midrange zoom and a second body (E-M1 or E-M5) with a Gordy wrist strap + a longish zoom. Sometimes a wide zoom or fast prime in the bag just in case.

In use, the camera on the sling strap stays across my chest for more frequent use and when I need the long zoom, it goes on my wrist and the midrange just dangles on my hip or in the camera bag. This two body arrangement allows for rapid access to either zoom, avoiding lens changing and its inherent delays and hazards. When the loose lens(es) in the bag are needed, the swap is done using some kind of stable support surface rather than on the go, if at all possible.

I went for the Cub & Co Russet Shooter.

All leather and quite comfy around the neck.
I kinda went for more for looks over comfort and have no complaints in either area. Dark coffee neck pad and brown strap looks great on my black E-M1. Longest period worn in one session so far has been around 5 hours and no probs.

One change I would make is to get custom length, maybe 4" longer. I'm 6' tall and find (for me) it sits a tad high on my chest at Standard 38" length.

On my EM1 I tend to use DSPTCH's wrist strap.

But when I need a strap I use Custom SLR's Air Strap.

I purchased a variety of brands from B&H and kept the ones that suited my needs.

All that I see in this thread are straps that are too stiff, too wide, have too many parts or a lot of cushioning. Over the top for small cameras like the Fuji X100 series. You can't easily put your camera in a bag with such a strap. The strap often gets in your way. You can't wrap it around your hand without it getting in front of the lens. It needs to be strong, but thin and supple. Something like the shoulder strap on the LowePro Rezo 10. Now that is a nice material. It might make a great little strap.

Curious what others are using on their OM-D.
I'm currently using the leather neck strap that came with the Limited Edition kit. However, I'm not entirely happy and will probably change to the Op/Tech system that is fitted to most of my other cameras. This system allows me to change quickly from wrist strap to sling using the plastic snap coupler.
