Must be a selloff of a faulty batch of lenses, the aperture jams at f/4.8 max wide open. :-D
Oh well, the accuracy of the email ad just matches the general accuracy of all reported news these days. Rumours treated as fact, nobody checks for accuracy, nobody knows English grammar or spelling (though I do forgive the USA for their very early version of English spellling).
The world is going down the stupidity glughole.
