GM1 vs. E-PL5

Guy, thanks for the links!

Yes, although I don't have the E-PL5 yet I love it already. Coming from the XZ-10, having played with the E-PM1, I fell in love with the feel of Olympus, and the strong shutter sound makes you feel like there's really some mechanics working!

The only things I'm gonna miss are 3 axis IBIS, slow motion video (hard to find in m4/3 anyway) and especially focus peaking. A propos: how is the Key Line trick in comparison to real focus peaking? Is it good enough to replace the magnification function?

I set my E-PL5 to 1/8 sec anti-shock and learnt to anticipate the slight delay when action is involved. It sounds weird now to me if I switch back to no delay.
The only things I'm gonna miss are 3 axis IBIS,
I mostly use no stabilisation and only use it when I get bad results or I feel that it may help more than hinder.

I have never liked focus peaking or other tricks, I judge manual focus by the old way I used film SLR, just focus through and back the focus point and zero in on what is the centre, and possibly use 2x DTC or even up to 14x if on a tripod as otherwise the framing gets a bit wild. Also use of DOF preview helps judge what may be right, I set the lens Fn button to DOF preview on my 12-40mm lens.

On the E-PL5 I shoot raw+jpeg and set the jpeg to 16:9 to get the largest details on the LCD, then select the crop I want from the raw file.

But mostly by far I use AF and it has been good. No adapted lenses as they are basically a pain to use, all dedicated M4/3 AF lenses for me in my lazy life.

After having gotten great help from you recently and having bought a bargain E-PM1, I finally got convinced to get an E-PL5 to live up to my true photography potential ;-)

I managed to be able to get it for a great price (222€ new body). Now the last doubts are: how is the GM1 (price: 300€ new body) in comparison to the E-PL5? I do like to take videos as well as stills, but not on a professional level.
The 2-axis IBIS seems to be a great advantage (and upgrade from the E-PM1) and the tilt screen is exciting (lots of new unusual angles to explore).

Might it even be worth waiting for a GM5 and maybe spend a lot of money? The E-PL7 doesn't seem to be such a major upgrade, except 3 axis IBIS, focus peaking and some minor features.

My major limitation at the moment is price, though.
What do you think? Should I shoot the E-PL5 or wait?
The 3 axis vs 2 axis is a significant upgrade especially coupled with the antishock feature.
