At a current cost of ~$300 new, the LX7 is still the best price/performance camera for a variety of photographic endeavors. Great size, great bright lens, very good video capabilities and output you can be proud of in most situations.

I hope Panasonic sells a million LX100s, but I'm quite satisfied with my LX7 (and my ZS20), thank you.

I have the GM1, GX7 and GH4...and the LX7. The LX7 holds its own when I do not want to carry multiple lenses or a much larger and heavier camera. Not that the M4/3 cameras are heavy, but they do (except the little GM1) take up more space. My LX7 is in no danger of being removed!

I couldn't agree more with you. Long live the LX7! Great photos too, really love the first one.

Thanks Tim, but it's hard to take a bad photo in Venice. I've really been enjoying your "my town" images, great work.

Now if only they'd squeeze LX7 IQ into an LF2. The LF1 lens hobbles an otherwise great little sensor.

Is Panasonic still manufacturing lx7? I've considered it, but always thought I'd end up with a lemon.
Trust me, Damian, the LX7 will NEVER be a lemon.

Why on Earth would you think that you'd end up with a lemon?

Well if they're not in production anymore, and from what I gather they haven't been in production for quite awhile, then likely most of what's left is a boat ton of return and problem LX7's. In Thailand, retail cost of a new LX7 is somewhere in the $500-600+, which obviously I wouldn't pay at this point. Thus I'm stuck with mail order and no clue what I'd end up with.

I could be mistaken, which is why I asked if they're still in production.

Why, yes, it is!

I have a feeling that the LX7 has been such a long-term success (Leica has put out numerous versions of the camera, the most recent just a few months ago) that they're not going to replace it soon. Instead they came out with a more advanced camera in the LX100.

My local store still carries them and it's one of their favorite cameras.

These photos are spectacular to me. May I ask if you photoshopped them or were they straight out of the camera. The first one, the b/w one, is one of my favorites. A year-and-a-half after purchasing it, I'm still learning it. I have the White guide, but I wish there were more about getting artistic results out of the camera as opposed to just essentially learning the menus.

Thank you for the very kind words. The photos were shot JPEG, with the first changed to B&W in iPhoto, and a bit of sharpening, that's all. I shot about 1000 images on a 3 week trip in Italy with my LX7 and ended up keeping more than 70% of them. I think the camera does an exceptional job in a variety of situations.

I recently bought an Olympus MFT camera with 2 lenses and have now sold it, really couldn't see much, if any difference in most of the photos shot with it and my LX7, and I find the LX7 so easy to use and carry.

Here are a couple more, hope you like then also.

Dan,

Thanks, and yes, shot from the ferry leaving to Bellagio. How about this one, hint, small town in Tuscany?

Although I was in Tuscany in June (chiefly Montepulciano, Cortona, Siena), you have me stumped.

You'll recognize this place:
