Classic and Smooth are 2 different types of paper...
The classic is polymer (resin??) coated and is very good to work
with dye based printers, such as Canon's...
The smooth paper is a microceramic paper...
It dries up very fast, but it's advisable that you only use it with
pigment based inks, such as Epsons's 2100/2200. Canon does not have
pigment based inks, only dye...
The problem with dye inks on microceramic paper is that the photo
becomes prone to very rapid fading, due to a phenomenon called gas
fading... Prints start to fade noticeably in weeks, and has nothing
to do with light... This phenomenon occurs even in complete
darkness.
You can prevent/delay it by laminating or putting it behind glass...
Between ILFORD CLASSIC GLOSS PAPER and ILFORD SMOOTH GLOSS PAPER,
which better quality with Canon i950 and Glossy finish equal to
Canon Photo Paper Pro ?
Also Between SMOOTH PEARL PAPER and CLASSIC PEARL PAPER, which

Thanks.
