Any one else here see the name FUJIFILM on the name plate of a digital camera and think it odd? Fuji makes great stuff (cameras + lenses), don't get me wrong, I used to shoot with Fuji film in my analog days (heck, do they even still make film?) and it was very great film. Please excuse my sentence structure(or mis-structure) I'm only on my second cup of coffee.

Well Canon cameras don't fire iron balls with gunpowder.

A company name is just that, a company name.

I used to ride a Fuji bicycle. I suspect that it was not made by Fujifilm. Therefore I suspect the name is used to distinguish it from the other Fuji company

It's the name of the company.

Fuji Heavy Industries Inc used to provide the four-stroke, four cylinder, horizontally opposed 'boxer' engine for Subaru.

It used to be "Fuji Photo Film Co", or so it says on my old 6x9, although funnily enough, my camera with Fujifilm in it says "Hasselblad" on the front. Who'd have thought a cosmetics company would have put their name on the front of a camera anyway?

Come back Fujica. All is forgiven!

They also do all sorts of chemistery and cosmetics, probably spinnofs from their old film days.

After years of FILM shooting, the first DIGITAL DSLR I bought was a Fujifilm S2 Pro, back in 2001 ! It was only 6MP, rather slow writing speed, but the IQ was fantastic !

Before to buy it, I compared with the Nikon D100 and definitely prefered the Fuji !

Even today, when shooting portraits, with newer, faster and having a lot more pixels (D800), I often regret the Fuji rendering !
