Off to bed now so gonna start part 2 or this thread will be full by the morning...
There are others out there who can start part 2 when needed -- i.e. around 120+ posts.

As it is, we have only 23 picture posts and most have been fairly well commented on.

Let's not kill the thread prematurely.

Cheers, geoff

A few books? That's an actual pile...Googled them but not much info in English. Interested to know summat about your work...fiction / fact??

A wonderful set. Different and playful. I think we have seen the fourth before but I still like it a lot.

Ah yes, but this is the weird version.

I have got some nice medium c/u shots with the Panny 12-35, but thought I would like to get a bit closer on occasion without resorting to my c/u set up -- the Panny 45-150 with Raynox 150 (formerly with Raynox 250.

So I added s practically prehistoric Olympus MCON-40 to the front end of it using a 58>55 step down ring, cranked it out to maximum zoom, and this is what I got (cropped to bout 3/4 of the image and with a little work on the background, upperright, but apart from that, OOC):

That's a pretty useful field of view for me.

The one that got away during all this was the heart breaker -- a beautiful electric blue and black birdwing butterfly narly as big as my hand at full spread, flitted and sipped, but its sips were of such short duration, and its flits so erratic, I couldn't get near taking a picture of it. Aaaahhh!

For comparison, here is a slightly smaller flower taken with my macro outfit -- the Panny 45-150 with the Raynox 150 fitted:

The full frame @ 45mm

The full frame @ 150mm (to get something vaguely in focus, I had to resort to burst mode as I rocked back and forth!)

That collection of close-up gear should keep me going!

…is a place with only modest appeal in life. Those blue rocks and yellow flowers really make the scene -- although the wonderful clarity of the atmosphere adds another dimension too.

Cheers, geoff

Thanks. I like my own coffee. But I didn't want to drive all the way home to make it.

Thank you.
