I love the 40mm micro lens on the FT1 but a dedicated macro in the 35mm to 40mm size would be brilliant!

Because a 35mm f1.8 for $200 would have been a better fit for the system. So interesting how people are listing lenses that would retail at $999+ yet the same people cried and wailed when the 32mm 1.2 came out at $900 saying it cost too much!!
Folks, make up your minds about the 1 system. You want good lenses? Get ready to pay for them. I have the 6.7-13mm wide zoom and love it. I have the 32mm 1.2 and love it.
The 18.5 fits nicely imo.Because a 35mm f1.8 for $200 would have been a better fit for the system. So interesting how people are listing lenses that would retail at $999+ yet the same people cried and wailed when the 32mm 1.2 came out at $900 saying it cost too much!!

It's a high quality lens with VR from Nikon, what'd you expect? The 6.7-13mm is nice but slow and expensive.
Well....... you can always use the FT1, but of cause it's big and ....... it's big! With a $900 lens budget I'd rather get a Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 ($800). If a CX version existed it would be a no brainer.
I'd pay $900 for a 30-110 f2.8. Or 17-55 f2.8.
I use my 17-70mm f2.8-4 on my V2 almost all the time so a fast zoom is much higher on my priority list than primes.
I made a 8/2.0 by adding a Panasonic 0.79X wide adapter to my 10/2.8, works like a charm!if Panasonic can produce a Leica 15mm / 1.7 (30mm eq) and sell it for $600, I don't see why Nikon can not create a 10mm / 1.8 with a price around $400-500 and an 8.5mm / 2.0 for around the same price range. .. just my opinion.
That's very interesting. So how do attach them together? Do you use a step up ring?I made a 8/2.0 by adding a Panasonic 0.79X wide adapter to my 10/2.8, works like a charm!if Panasonic can produce a Leica 15mm / 1.7 (30mm eq) and sell it for $600, I don't see why Nikon can not create a 10mm / 1.8 with a price around $400-500 and an 8.5mm / 2.0 for around the same price range. .. just my opinion.
