What Nikon 1 Lens Would You Like Next?

The 18.5 f/0.7. I love the current 18.5 for many reasons, but it can only get better with it being faster.

Yes to either macro!

The 40 micro DX lens should be easy to modify for Nikon 1, and voila! a 105 FX lens (actually a 108 micro, but you'd be hard pressed to see the difference)!

we need fast lenses and the 1" sensor should allow Nikon to design good ones without too much design challenges ...

what we also need are lenses that are not soooo expensive.

F2.8 zooms

wonder how big a 200 f2.8 would be?

this would be great

that's why few people build them. mixed messages.

high fidelity, high performance, fast glass corrected for glare, and aberrations at most focal lengths other than normal ... are typically soooo expensive. if they weren't there'd probably be something wrong with them.

unless you know of a manufacturing process the lens makers can use to keep them thrifty, such low volume items at rock bottom prices ain't gonna happen. JMO.

we've all gotta pay to play.

A macro and a 200-400mm F4 VR.

15mm (e-FL = 40mm) f2.8 "power prime retractable" (maybe with VR) that retracted almost flush with the body to minimize depth for pocket-ability. Or flush with V1 grip?

9 - 44mm f2.8 VR zoom (24-120 equiv FL)

if Panasonic can produce a Leica 15mm / 1.7 (30mm eq) and sell it for $600, I don't see why Nikon can not create a 10mm / 1.8 with a price around $400-500 and an 8.5mm / 2.0 for around the same price range. .. just my opinion.

Have the trifecta 6.7-13, 10-100 & 70-300

Would love to see a 13mm F1.4 or F2.. 35mm equiv fast prime and as others have noted, a 60mm F2.8 Macro equivalent.

Add true Nikon Flash compatibility in the V4 and I'm good.

Yeah, a 24-120 equiv would be nice though I've bought the 10-100mm now so am better off getting the UWA. Considering the V1 doesn't fit in my pockets well, I'll probably be getting the Sony RX100 mk3 for something that starts at 24mm.

An 13mm f1.8 VR would be what I'd like to see next.

EDIT: A nice fisheye would be desirable too. Though I'd like a firmware upgrade to the V1 to add easy panorama first.

I would love a 24-120 version for walk around or a 35 equivalent.
1 - I would love a firmware upgrade that allows all points focus on FT1. Then I could use any of my lenses on the V2.

2 - I would also like an FT2 with VR included

3 - More fast primes or fast zooms

And sorry for the off topic comment below

- Nikon please keep same battery in all the V range and no optional EVFs.

- Nikon1 is great just make the V4 a pro N1 camera

So interesting how people are listing lenses that would retail at $999+ yet the same people cried and wailed when the 32mm 1.2 came out at $900 saying it cost too much!!
Folks, make up your minds about the 1 system. You want good lenses? Get ready to pay for them. I have the 6.7-13mm wide zoom and love it. I have the 32mm 1.2 and love it.

For me, I want more fast primes. No slower than f1.8. This is why I sold the 10mm f2.8, it was a nice lens but just too slow to mean anything to me. I can shoot at 10mm with my 10-30mm at f5.6 and get VR to boot. If the 10mm was f1.8 I'd have kept it.

The 32mm f1.2 is a superb lens. I love it. The image quality is simply outstanding. A very underrated lens. A sleeper on this forum. Seemingly no one has it, yet people her all cry and wail for more primes!

18mm 1.8 and 32mm 1.2 are my favorite primes. Sharp and contrasty.

6.7-13mm is my favorite zoom.

10-30mm a great walkaround lens.

30-110mm great for concerts, ballgames, etc.

10-100mm PD-Zoom a bargain new at $250 - great for an all around lens for photos and video.

10mm was good for nothing so I sold it.

I can't say I disagree with this. I've both the 70-300 and 32 and they do cost quite a fair bit but I'm willing to pay for quality I guess. Besides, these lenses are essentially the pinnacle of N1 lenses and 1k isn't anywhere as bad as getting high build quality/image quality lenses from any other system. I think people assume that it's a given for lenses to come cheap and perform superbly just because the N1 is a small system.

I definitely wish for the patented 18.5f/0.7 to appear. I love the current one to bits and the only way it could get even better is to be faster.
