My first impressions of my first Canon: heavier than I thought it would be. I expected it to be just like my LX7, but feels more substantial. I'm pleasantly surprised with the grip -- it's better than I expected. AF is ok. It works with my style of street shooting. Coming from Panasonic enthusiast compacts, I absolutely love Canon OOC colors. Touch screen is easy to navigate as I'm on my iPhone or iPad a lot each day. I haven't loaded the pdf manual, so I have two questions: 1) where in the menu can I find the firmware version? And 2) when I've experimented with aspect ratios, say from 3:2 to 16:9, the image fills the screen on playback, but there are two heavy grey horizontal lines superimposed. Is this because the 22 is limited to 3:2? All in all, I think I will enjoy this camera.

fourth spanner next to the star.

Your m sensor ratio is 3:2, so it applies to all lenses.

The grey lines shows how your picture is cropped when loaded into third party processing software, which also means your picture resolution is lesser when shooting formats other than 3:2.
