Another real nice picture, I hope you have not deserted Scotland but Ireland is also very beautiful as well.

West coast sunsets are spectacular.

I was afraid that the current Sigma forum had cheesed you off badly and you had disappeared to a more interesting place, and who could blame you, glad you haven't. :-)

Nice image, is this an HDR processed image, only asking as wondered what caused the purple patch in the centre of the photo or was the light really like that.

No hdr, hate that stuff. Purple, if present,is due to foveon 's sensor weakness in handling low light, added to my weakness in o
pricessing, perhalps.
 
Stuart, nice to hear from You. No I won t leave this forum as I like it, despite all of the last plenty of words...
And I won t forget Scotland as well, let s say this year the Scottish islands were in my heart but not in my wallet.
I came back to Ireland after 12 years and found it sweet and charming as always.
ps. I was published in the current issue of Scottish Islands Explorer magazine, if interested, it s a good magazine.

I had the chance to make a lot of dawn-sunset photographs due to relatively good weather, and visit some remote parts of Northern Ireland and Donegal (such the outstanding Island of Tory) which I had not seen yet (as well as some outstanding pubs:-)
 
Thanks, Yes I completely agree. I could say it's the reflection of the sunset... but it's more likely the in-famous foveon magenta noise ;-)
