What a beautiful place! The chipmunk (?) eating out of the hand is very cute, hopefully he does not carry diseases..... Also love the gray jay, he is adorable! I've never seen one before.

So sad to hear about the animal park. In this day and age, you would think more efforts are made to ensure humane treatment of animals. I'm sorry your day was sad...... :-(

I find your first lizard shot interesting, it appears to have a fin down its tail??

Terrific shots of squirrel we don't see here in So Cal!

All with Canon SL1 + 400/5.6. Neither compact nor Panasonic but perhaps there will be some interest in this outfit dedicated to BIF. It works very well for the purpose (kingfishers in flight are now routine rather than exceptional), but is not otherwise the equal of the GM1 + 100-300. Call it a compliment to the FZ70 + E17ED.

I'm not sure of the identity of the murrelet. Can someone help me out?

Be careful Steve, the FZ1000 owners will be jealous with that setup! Beautifully captured.

All great, Rodger but I love #1. Interesting composition and dreamy setting!

I had to look up "fossicking." Never heard that word before. You guys are making me smarter!

Great shots and you named the birds correctly. I haven't seen the Golden Mantled Ground Squirrels at Manning Park before. The last time I was there, there was a different species of ground squirrel running around and looking for food. Even though I live in Australia, I have been through Manning Park a number of times and always stop at the cafe there for lunch and the wildlife.

An excellent series of shots. Can't help with the identifications.

I commented on these in your other post, but I thought they came out really well and you just wouldn't know they came from a video grab.

Beautiful wildlife, especially in the second shot. They can be quite dangerous, so it was wise you didn't get too close. :-)
