No. it is better than the SL! + 400 for everything else but for BIFs the Canon outfit is the right tool.

The colors and boken on the two with the FZ1000 are excellent at 35%. Then at 100% the Panasonic JPEG processor disappoints. My ZS40 has the same problem, best not to pixel peep.

Thanks for sharing.

Excellent shot. Good to see one during the day with its eyes open.

I really like the colour and lighting in this shot Serge. Excellent result.

Well decided to take a trip for a couple of days into the interior of BC. Stopped at Manning Park and found these creatures. What was amazing was how tame they were.

See for yourself.

Gray Jay of Whiskey Jack. At first I thought it was the same as the Clark's Nutcracker but not so.

This is the area just to give you an idea. FZ1000 does excellent panoramas.

Have more pics will post another time, maybe to general forum.

Great shots and you named the birds correctly. I haven't seen the Golden Mantled Ground Squirrels at Manning Park before. The last time I was there, there was a different species of ground squirrel running around and looking for food. Even though I live in Australia, I have been through Manning Park a number of times and always stop at the cafe there for lunch and the wildlife.

Delightful studies!

Two from me from a recent post on the "Panny" forum,,

1st is from an airboat ride whilst on a recent trip to Florida,, both are "crops", the originals can be found on my flickr page, the 2nd shot was taken at an animal park, one where we stayed only 10 mins due to its disgusting state and the way the animals were being kept.

Two excellent images Roland. I really like the racoon shot. Not that keen on alligators.

Thanks for the comment Rodger,, it just turned out to be a sad day for all after seeing the state of the so called animal park, hence my only taking 2 photos and then having looked further,, walking away,,

Thanks Yuki! I was wondering about that also. Maybe the one with the black beak is a female, it also has more color in the chest.
