Canon 40mm rebate

So I purchased a 40mm pancake lens the day of the rebate rollout, in which I was able to get it for $149 when in fact that day the store was supposed to increase the price to $200 and Canon provides a $50 mail in rebate.

The store honored the listed price, so would I be able to receive the rebate from Canon? The date of purchase is in line with Canon's rules, but I also have to send in my receipt. Anyone have any input on this situation?

I'm glad I was able to get it for $150, and yes I would much rather have the rebate as well to knock the price down to $100. Not sure why Canon went with this rebate but the 40mm has been priced at $150 forever..

edit: Here is a link to the pdf form for the rebate

Make a copy of the invoice and follow the rebate directions to a t. The rebate companies go out of their way to find a way to void your rebate. More voids = more profit.

The lens is OK, but I do not use it as much as I expected.

But rebates are a royal pain!!!!!!!

Yeah I'll follow all of the directions carefully, hopefully it will work..

Planning on using this 40mm instead of the 18-55 STM kit
