Scooter says goodbye (not by choice)

I got an email from Scooter, saying that he'd been banned. This
is apparently the thread that did it for him:

I get the impression Scooter's not exactly SURE about that, though.
Anyway, he just wanted me to let people know why he's not going to
be around.
I don't think he's trying to start a "Save Scooter" thing, either.
I'll let you be the judge of that:

ruler test thing. But I'm cool, the site's gotten awfully nasty
lately and I shouldn't spend so much time there anyway. Anywho,
take it easy and I just didn't want to "disappear" without an

The last time all this ban stuff happened I went off and spent some money to open a new forum so people could speak their mind. I like a good laugh now and then. To top it off I seen people banned for posting glamour pics that I felt were very beneficial to the community. I would never tell anyone how to run their board, it is their right and their rules.
However, if you want a little less on the rules and a little more on the freedom then all you have to do is head on over to the board I opened.

Is it slow? Sure is...it takes people posting to make it move. I stated that in the beginning. The board will only do as good or move as fast as the photography community makes it.
As far as message boards go I went with the best and it overcomes many of the technical problems of this board.
I don't suspect people will really head over there but the option is there.

He apologized, and said he wouldn't do it again right there in that thread. I don't understand why he gotta be banned, just deleted that post and give him a warning. Besides, it was late Friday night/Saturday morning, he probably had a few drinks and just wanted a laugh, people need to chill and take things into perspective.

But I don't think Phil will take the time to read every post following the thread to find this out. I think Phil just banned based on the thread's initial post. That post alone was not very nice (as inadvertant as it was) and this was all that was considered.
