Where to buy F717?

Finally I have decided to buy F-717 as my first digital, after playing with various SLRs for years.
I find prices around $540 on Camera Sonic or CameraTopic suggested by PriceScan.
Please comment on reliability these sources and suggestions ....

If you're in Canada as your info suggested, make sure you get it from a SonyCanada authorised dealer, otherwise no canadian warranty.

Having said that, it is more money to get it here, than the US, even after you factor in the exchange rate. The cheapest I found it in Canada is about $1100CAD (aprox 770US), not cheap compared to what some are paying for it over there. So, if warranty is not important, get it from the US. If you want a MS PRo, get that from the US too as its way too much here. I paid $179CAD for the 256 card, some people are getting them for about 90US (Aprox 125CAD).

Thanks, for your note on the warranty coverage in Canada. Where do you get that price in Canada? I could not find lower than $1200 (GST not included!).

How does warranty work? Do you have to ship it to Sony Canada or to the dealer purchased from? And if purchased from US, you have to ship it there?

You're welcome. I got my 717 from Futureshop, they beat an ad by a company in Ontario (greytech.com) and it ended up being $1120 (GST extra), however, if you're in Calgary, Soundsurround had them on sale for $1098 about 3 weeks ago. Only thing is I hate Soundsurround, No return policy, poor customer support but I usually use them for others to beat or match their price, like FutureShop. I strongly recommend getting it from Canada otherwise, you'll always be shipping the thing to the US, for who knows how long it takes. SonyCanada, on the other hand, gives you a list of service centers which are all over the country that you can walk into, much better in my opinion. I did mention going the US route for the MS because they usually don't break down, so its of little importance that it has a US only warranty, I wish I had done that.
