Just a couple days ahead of this month's deadline, I am back for yet another month of our yearlong forum challenge (last month's June thread is here)! This month found slim pickings for me photographically, as most of my work did not come with a public photo release.

I did manage to visit the Brown County State Park in Indiana, however, and brought along my 400mm f/2.8 to try my hand at birding. With clear skies and bright sun I hoped to find many colorful songbirds flitting around the trees. By the end of the day I only saw a few birds, and couldn't get close enough to any of them to get a high-enough resolution image to crop and share. As the sun set, I followed its descent through the hazy sky as it neared the far off treeline. With a touch of editing to bring out detail in the clouds and correct the colors in the shaded trees, I ended up with a photograph I will print large with my lab's next sale:

What's your July story?

A lot of my July shots came from just walking around the neighborhood like this old vehicle:

Man, I can't believe July is almost over. Summer is just flying by this year!

Just got back from a week's vacation in Vancouver BC - beautiful city.

Just received my A6000 on the 25th, so not much to show for July (and rarely have pics as good as the ones already posted here anyway so even if I had a month of July's probably wouldn't do much better).

However, I did think this shot shows the autofocus capabilities of the a6000

July was the month I decided to experiment with using legacy lenses on my NEX-6. I'm also expanding into other aspects of photography beyond the wildlife photos I generally take.

One of the legacy lenses I picked up was a Zeiss Jena 29mm 1:2.8. I haven't done any wide angle or architecture photography but for a change I went out this morning to the local mall to see what I could find. I am particularly happy with how this one came out. The only editing I have done was to slightly straighten the image.

I'm having a "staycation" this summer. Making do with what's around, here's one rose for July:

I like this challenge Many beautifull pictures out there!

This picture I took during a Sony Challenge in Holland. I used my own 50mm f1.8 lens on my Nex5 (the original first model) During a bird show I tried to take some BIFs but the AF system of this old camera is not up to that task, so I ended up with this picture, I like it!
