I''ve just tried my new summicron m 35 for a landscape shot. Seems to be working (+M 240 +LR 5). What do you think?

It is a beautiful shot.

I also see you managed to capture some rare flying dust bunnies on the upper right. :-)

The foreground kills this one. The clutter breaks the flow of the image and turns the focus from the sunset to the tree tops. Dust spot? by the sun doesn't help either.

I think the real issue is that you tried squeeze in too much. I think you could make this much stronger by focusing on a smaller area. It would have been hard to make this shot work regardless of focal length from your vantage point.

What do you think?

It's still a nice shot. You can worry about dust spots and other menial things if you print or publish it.

Thank you. I see what you mean. I was most attracted by the layering of colors close to the horizon, and the foreground is an "extra" due to the vantage point, although it offers a counterpoint to the skyline... In any case, I appreciate your critique. It is helpful and instructive.

Thank you. God knows I've tried to blow off the dust but it probably requires a more radical treatment. An expensive pet, this M 240!

Welcome to the club. Looks like a wet clean is in order.
