Hi all.

Recently, my ZS30 has a particle on the sensor (or maybe lens) , and appears in every shot. Minimum at wide angle and Pronounced at Telephoto.

Wanting to try another type Travel Zoom, (not that this wouldn't happen), I came across a thread by Erik. In it, some mention and some photo's were there...shot with the Casio ZR700.

Seeing the specs, and the low price, I thought I'd try one.

Here's a few shots...still lots to learn.

It seems that you are an advanced student. Your #1 is a beauty and would be so for any camera. The close-ups are nice, and the fountain is good. What is going on with #6? HDR? Thanks for sharing.

Nice results, though seeing f/11.8 was a bit of a surprise.

Indeed.

Proves that, in the right hands, any camera is good.

I chose the Zr700 for my recent trip to Europe and hav not been diappointed.

#1 doesn't appeal to me very much. I think #5 is gorgeous IMHO. #6 is an interesting creation, but it gets close to what I would call an abstract. I like to create pictures like #6 myself, but I've never been moved to post them anywhere. I play around in the Topaz plug-ins sometimes and it's fun to see what can be done!

It sure looks like you know what your doing ANAYV. Thanks for sharing and warm regards,

Those are excellent. Why did you choose the 700 over the 800?

The 800 has the 5-axis stabilizer

They look very good indeed ANAYV. Number 5 is best for me but all good.

Very nice variety of shots. I'm not crazy about the over cooked look of the stairs but I do agree with you that the composition is strong. Your idea of B&W for it can still be done and you might be pleasantly surprised by the result. I have applied an HDR effect to some of my photos before converting to B&W with good results. That Casio sure looks like a nice camera especially considering the low cost. Thanks for sharing these.

Thanks David .

#6 is from an in camera scene called HDR Art.

A superb set. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, ANAYV, for such an excellent following up to Erik's recent posts. It seems that Casio is really exploiting electronics to add capabilities to smaller cameras which have less scope for optical developments than DSLRs. So we are getting 1. Merged multi-focal-length frames to keep subjects in focus at several distances for better macros; or for blurred backgrounds for more vibrant subjects. 2. Merged multi-frames for super-resolution zooms, or better low-light results. 3. HDR for high contrast backlit and night scenes. 4. Time Lapse. 5. In-camera panoramas, and merged panoramas for wider angle effects. 6. Pre-emptive photos retainable from streaming burst modes.

Sony has also been a leader in exploiting the electronics side of digital photography, but though Panasonic is a longstanding electronics firm, it has been slower to incorporate the possibilities into its models. For instance, it provides a 'miniaturised' time lapse capability in several recent models but does not exploit it to allow straightforward time-lapse without defocused areas.

ANAYV,

Your pictures are excellent.

I had a Casio QV 2000UX that I purchased new back in 1999. It was a great camera for its time and for having only 2.1 mp it produced some great pictures.
