RX100 M3 Cases...

Lowepro LP36513-0WW Portland 20 Camera Pouch - this is from Lowepro's bag wizard and fits similar to the SwissGear - snug fit but will hold camera and battery if you don't place the battery deep in the front pocket (over the lens).

FlexARMOR Compact Digital Camera Case with Carrying Carabiner for Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 II , HX200V , DSC-HX50V , DSC-WX50 and Many More - inexpensive, neoprene with no additional padding and a simple flap closure with velcro and a fixed belt loop and carabiner. Very compact and fits well - has enough height you can put in a spare battery in the bottom before you put the camera in and it works well.

I have the Sony LCM CSVH semi hard case for the rx100ii. I don't know if the slightly thicker RX100iii will fit.

I just picked one up at the local Best Buy. It's a Sony but I'm not sure the model number. I just took my mk3 in and tried a bunch of 'em.

Found a great little case on Ebay, slightly wider than the RX100m3, probably more ideal for the M2 with hotshoe but ideal for me as I intend to get a half jacket for it at some stage.

Hello All,

I'm new to the forum. Just got my RX100 M3, this is my first RX100 camera. I also have a Nex 5R.

Just wondering if anyone has found any cases that fit the M3? Specifically i'm looking for something like the official sony jacket case or one of the third party cases that are similar.

I know this camera's dimensions are slightly larger than the previous rx100's, but if anyone has tried using these cases and they work please let me know. I want to protect this baby before I bring it out into the real world so any tips or advice on what you're using is appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
Take a look at the Op/Tech Wide Large Horizontal Snappeez pouch. I use one with my RX100II and it fits like a glove. It has a belt loop and the pouch has a magnetic closure so no annoying velcro. Very comfortable neoprene material and...made in the U.S.A.

I can't find the Ridge 30 anywhere but got the newer Lowepro Dashpoint 10 yesterday and the M3 fits very nicely in it. It has both shoulder strap (across the short side of the case) as well as a belt (across the long side of the case) loops, both of which are velcroed. While it is convenient that they are velcroed (you can loop it through your belt after you have the belt on) it is also not 100% tight so one could imagine it falling given a strong tug on the case against the belt. The case however seems cushioned enough to protect the camera from a drop.
the lowepro ridge 30 is what i've used for my rx100 ever since i got it and the m3 fits in it perfectly with only room to spare to stuff in my wrist strap. but a front pockets holds two spare batteries and up to 4 or 5 memory cards. just about perfect for an absolutely minimal case, imo.

After checking 5 cases, which would fit from size at 3 different dealers, I chose the following one:

Cullmann Berlin RS 300 black

Fits and looks almost as tailor-made for the RX100III.

The case also includes a rain protection sleeve.

I ordered the Lowepro Dashpoint 10 after you mentioned it. I got it today. At first sight I thought it was too small, but the M3 actually fits perfectly. You might be able to fit a spare battery in the bottom, I will have to test. If you are looking for a small case to basically only fit the M3, this is it. I like it. Case search is over, case search is over... I figure if I keep saying it, I won't buy several different cases like I have for my other cameras.
Glad you like it. How do you feel about the belt loop?

I agree with your view of it. Maybe that's the only negative on the case, in that it might not be so secure when held on your belt. I doubt I will ever carry it that way though. Like I wrote before, I am glad you mentioned it. I never would have believed it would be the right size. When I opened the box and saw it, the first thing I thought was finding this thread and saying you must have a different case. BTW, I always try to buy Lowepro. They have tremendous customer support.

An update now the RX100m3 is fitted with a half jacket case. This fits like a glove in all directions, my only wish is that I purchased the case in black :)

Never used case with m1 except sunglass case (style eyes) as dust cover inside pants or jacket pocket. tapered shape great for pants pocket entry/exit.

Surprizingly, extra weight and size had me try this belt loop case I had, works well with extra battery, memory card, lens cloth

Well, I have purchased a couple of the cases based on advice from this thread, and all I can say is that a lot of you are more comfortable squeezing your camera into something tight than I am. I want small, but I don't like putting that much presasure on my camera. I happened to come across this case in a drawer in my office. It is called the Denali Small Photo Traveler and it is (IMO) the perfect case for the RX100M3 and a couple of extra batteries. This is a stock photo from the interweb:

Heres a picture of mine with my RX100M3 in it:

You can find them on eBay for $7-12

Thanks for the info re the case.

Thanks for your input. I looked at on your link. I don't live far from a Best Buy's and will go in to see it if they have it in stock.

Thanks again and enjoy,

Mina

I have used with significant satisfaction on the Model 1 & 2, and now M3, the Lens Coat "Bodybag" [Mfr # LCBBPSBK]:

LensCoat Bodybag PS Camera Protector Containing RX100m3 & spare battery
LensCoat Bodybag PS Camera Protector Containing RX100m3 & spare battery

I prefer it because it add a modicum of protection with minimum bulk. As you will note in other posts, there are other alternatives with a belt loop added.

Not sure it's worth $130+ for a full Gariz case, but the half case and cover are available now for M3. See ebay.

I understand you aim to find something similar to the Sony jacket style case but I'd like to share my find. It so happens that cases made for the Panasonic Lumix LX5 fits the RX100M3 nicely. A generic, unbranded, like the Eynpire Camera Leather Case For Lumix LX5 Black Vertical has worked great for me. The case and a hand strap combo has provided both safety and performance -- effective and still compact -- a fair compromise.

Even offering just enough room for the Sony VFA49R1 Filter Adapter attached.

I bought a couple of pouches but wasn't really happy with any of them. Decided to buy the Sony LCJ-RXF case but couldn't find it in stock anywhere in the UK, until yesterday where I ordered it from ukdigital.co.uk and it arrived today. Really great fit and feel, doesn't add too much bulk. Offers some nice protection and is really easy to access the camera.

I also ordered the GR2 grip as I thought it would fit OK under the case sadly it doesn't though.
