Hello All,

I'm new to the forum. Just got my RX100 M3, this is my first RX100 camera. I also have a Nex 5R.

Just wondering if anyone has found any cases that fit the M3? Specifically i'm looking for something like the official sony jacket case or one of the third party cases that are similar.

I know this camera's dimensions are slightly larger than the previous rx100's, but if anyone has tried using these cases and they work please let me know. I want to protect this baby before I bring it out into the real world so any tips or advice on what you're using is appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

the lowepro ridge 30 is what i've used for my rx100 ever since i got it and the m3 fits in it perfectly with only room to spare to stuff in my wrist strap. but a front pockets holds two spare batteries and up to 4 or 5 memory cards. just about perfect for an absolutely minimal case, imo.

I just ordered a lowepro rezo 30, and it looks like it is going to be very good as well. I don't have the camera or the case yet, so I can't say for sure.

I can't find the Ridge 30 anywhere but got the newer Lowepro Dashpoint 10 yesterday and the M3 fits very nicely in it. It has both shoulder strap (across the short side of the case) as well as a belt (across the long side of the case) loops, both of which are velcroed. While it is convenient that they are velcroed (you can loop it through your belt after you have the belt on) it is also not 100% tight so one could imagine it falling given a strong tug on the case against the belt. The case however seems cushioned enough to protect the camera from a drop.

i prefer velcro or a snap over a fixed loop for the very reason you describe--you don't have to slide out your belt. but the ridge 30 is just such a perfect fit that i forgive it this. it also has strap lugs so you could sling it over a shoulder or hang it around your neck. although i've lost track of it, it probably did come with the strap when i first got it.

I got a Crumpler Jackpack-90. Like it a lot.

hadn't seen that one. it looks promising and those are really padded. any pockets?

There's one pocket inside.

Oh, and btw: there's a belt strap on the back.

Velcro is fast in/out and holds well while running, hiking, biking...zippers scratch, are slow, and inconvenient require two hands...magnets are weak and can drop a camera...

Looks perfect. I just wish I could find one in the us

I also just got my RX100 III and while it is "pocketable," it's certainly not something I would want to do all the time. I want a small case that will just fit the camera and one spare battery. Also with a belt loop or some sort...

It seems there are two lowepro cases, the Ridge and the Rezo... Will the Ridge fit this M3 a little better? Someone said the Rezo was a little tight and would fit an extra battery...

Any other case suggestions that fit the M3 and one extra battery without it being too tight?

I've been using a SwissGear GA-7834-14F00 SHERPA Gray Medium Plus Camera Case with my RX100M1 and my new RX100M3 fits fine as well. It's sized just right, has a belt loop, a flat zipper compartment in the back that holds a strap or can be used for memory cards, and a velcro pouch in front that can hold a spare battery. It's well padded and constructed. For about $12 it's a great case.

For a horizontal belt case I am using the Tenba MIXX Large. The RX100 M3 with Sony grip fits it well. It has a largish front pocket for spare batteries but as delivered the batteries will fall out fairly easily when the cover is open. I ended up using a needle and thread to stitch the large front pocket into two smaller angled pockets sized slightly larger than the spare batteries. With that the batteries stay in place very well.

P.S. Love the fact that I already had the camera with me and using Wifi didn't need to go looking for a card reader....

Thanks for all the ideas!

im looking for more of a jacket case, something I can wear around my neck and have easy access to the camera (without having to take it out of a pouch etc...)

but I like the way some of the cases you guys posted look, maybe I'll have to use one of those in the meantime.

This is the Lowepro Ridge 20 case. The phone fits in snugly along with the larger wrist cable. Nice amount of padding on every side, would have good hope that the phone would survive a drop whilst inside this case. Its a zip lock, on the top it has a pocket where you could easily fit a usb cable and a couple of batteries. Small pocket on top of that still, which can take SD cards etc.

Quite happy with it, it feels well made. £11 delivered from Dabs.
