Great shots Ron. Looks like a small heron . . .are they about same size as a little green heron do you know?
 
One of my favorite birds. I like these red eyes. Nice shooting!

The red eyes look more alive than the Herons here in the south of France (heron cendré) which have yellow eyes and look dead and slightly prehistoric.

You are getting a lot of good use out of the Sigma 120mm - 400mm
I just npw posted a taking flight sequence using a Sigma 100-300/4 + Pentax 1.4X HD AW.
