This is the weekly Show Your Snaps thread, where we invite you to show your own snapshots or even choice pictures. I'll be sure to comment about your photos, if you choose to share.

When you are posting your own images please submit them as a reply to this post. Otherwise your pictures may be overlooked. You might also consider describing your pictures in the subject title. See my own photos for this week as a reply.

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each other and it's fun to share too. Thanks everyone for your participation.

This past Saturday, I went to our annual Rose Parade in Portland, Oregon. The weather was perfect with mild temperatures and partly cloudy skies & sunshine.

Photo No. 1 - Before the parade began the kids and adults played games in the streets.

Photo No. 2 - They would throw things like this.

Photo No. 3 - I missed this play-fight. They were cleaning themselves up by the time I got there.

I like it. You have good composition; it's well exposed even when shooting towards the bright light above.

Here are some green ducks I found at the parade...Oregon Ducks that is.... :)

Can I take your picture with my kids posed near you? At least that is what I thought the mother might have said at the parade. You can see how it took a while for the children to get set up for the photo. She was so tall that I'm not sure if they were all that keen on getting so close.

Hi all,
These are my take on where I live,

Although we have had a mild winter in the North West (UK), Butterflies are still taking their time to emerge.

This Wood Pigeon is building a nest, it could be the second this season, we've had good weather so far.

Very nice series. Love the boats. On a canal I imagine.

The flowers look like fox gloves.

Last Sunday I went with a couple of newfound photography buddies to take pictures of the sunset in Arpoador, a small strip between Copacabana beach and Ipanema beach in Rio de Janeiro. This is actually how the sky looked.

EXIF got lost so: Canon T4i, f/4, 1/30s, 17mm (Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 VC), ISO 400

Kingston skyline looks great! Good job.

Those are very nice. I especially like the first one where we can see the contrast between the clouds and sunshine. The wood pigeon is excellent also.

Having a person in the photo does makes this better (at least from my perspective). I've noticed that before, that we don't always have to get closeups of people. All we have to do is provide some human life to our pictures even if they are far away.

The night time pictures of Kingston look very nice. I hope this summer, I'll be able to take more night time photos too.

Wow...that's so pretty. You must have many nice things to photograph in that area.

Yes, as far as living in a big city is concerned, Rio is a paradise for landscape photographers. My two friends said they have a long list of magic spots, all of which they plan to revisit, and will take me along.

Here is another I took from the same spot, after the sun had set, using a full 30-second exposure and f/11. I posted it at FB in a photo group called Rio Imagem (Rio Images).

Hi 2esetters,

We have a massive canal system thanks to the Industrial revolution, thankfully in the 70's and 80's these waterways were restored and now are part of a holiday/leisure industry and are great places for wildlife.

Your right I checked it out they are foxgloves.

Thanks.
