Beautiful photos!Did little Post processing. I did add the profiles to LR5 but its not showing up under profiles? am i doing anything wrong. Placed it under the user directory as advised by Rob.
I did manually reduce distortion by -5 and added little bit of vignetting. Did not crop. if there is a better way to do it please let me know. Thanks!

The 1018 is best below 15 mm, the newer 1650 and 1670 outperform it at 16 and 18mm. 4: no.

Put all the lens profiles need to go into the following folder:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/
After that, they appear under the following profile:
Sony / E 10-18mm F4 OSS / SONY A7 + SEL1018FF

I doubt it would work, as the profiles are based on camera models. I seem to remember taking an image created on someone else's A7R and attempting to apply my lens profile, only to find it conspicuously absent!Rob,
Would these profiles work on the A7R?

It's been a long time since I looked, but it's possible someone has in the meanwhile created one that you can download from the adobe lens profile downloader. You might want to try there, or better still, create one yourself like I 'attempted' to do... you'll need a couple of hours I think and for the SEL1018 a printer that can print at least A3 (A2 would be even better I think).

If I had to start from scratch, for me it'd be an easy choice. The extra 2mm, along with the OSS would win me the loss of extra 2 stops of light on the Samyang. The main reason being that I actually shoot most my wide angle landscapes at F8 for maximum DoF anyway. When light was bad and I needed to shoot wide open, I've managed to get sharp results from the SEL1018 (due to the OSS no doubt) at as low as 1/8 shutter.Question for you guys. If at the time you bought SEL 10-18mm the Rokinon/Samyang 12mm F2 was available would you still have picked SEL10-18mm?
SEL1018 - Extra 2mm wide, and useful zoom if you want to frame. OSS. Works on Full Frame!!What would be your single main reason to pick one over the other?
I've used it extensively for over a year and have no noticed any dust inside, perhaps I've been lucky. Although perhaps it's also a different usage pattern to say a 24-70 where you're constantly pumping from wide to narrow. Also is SEL 10-18mm a dirt magnet because of the zoom?
For me, beyond question I'd pick the 10-18mm again and again, every time. I had the 16mm + ECU1 for the 12mm optical, which did pretty well...but overall for me ultrawide shooting is about WIDE, so I'll always take more wide focal than anything else, and 10mm wins that game over 12mm for me. Also, much UWA shooting does tend to be more stopped down, so max aperture isn't quite as crucial for me. And adding in the variable focal range flexibility of a zoom to 18mm, and stabilization to boot, not to mention the convenience of autofocus, the 10-18mm is my choice every time on the e-mount. I also shoot with a 10-24mm UWA zoom on my DSLR, for the same reasons - 10mm on the wide end, zoom flexibility, and stabilization!Question for you guys.
