Looks like a great combo, love the sharpness of the third shot. These birds have great coloration to match their surroundings.
 
Hi Dabbler,

The 55-200 does a great job.This lens is why I got into the Fuji sytem.The IS is outstanding. Not the easiest guys to photograph with the XE-1 with only has CDAF unlike the later models .Had to use manual focus as it's quite a decent size tree with dense foilage and they don't sit still for long :-)

Beautiful birds. For the rest of the worlds these are precious pets.. And its wilderness to you.

Also it's very sad to see its winter(?) there... Poor you folks, will suffer under the harsh Aus winter. :)

Take it easy on him now, the winter weather in his part of Australia can get pretty extreme with overnight temps all the way down to (12C) this time of year ;-)

What film simulation mode did you use? How did you set Dynamic Range? What Metering pattern did you use?
