I think the shot might look better if you used a water mist bottle to spray the cherries first, so there are lots of tiny droplets on the cherries to glisten in the light.

Just my $.02

I think the water is distracting. The cherries are are uninteresting and don't work well individually. The spray bottle idea is good. I would also try some some one light shots or maybe two with the fill 2 of 3 stops under exposed to try to bring out some of the depth in the shape of the cherries.

Thanks for the idea. I'll try it out!

Thanks for the critiques.

Actually this shot is taken with an underexposed fill (bounced) and two lights from the left and from the right. Do you think I should remove one of the lights ? (I have tried that but the results did not look nice to my eye)

Regarding the water, I'll do the shots without it again. Actually I though the glare on the surface of the water adds to the scene, but I'll definitely try to remove it!

Thanks again.

hi Zape- I like the overall composition. I agree that a little mist, a glycerin and water combo works better than water alone, would add some texture and interest. Also I think that the light should be broader and more diffuse. You've got specular hot spots that are somewhat distracting. Keep going- I think you'll end up with something very nice!

i don't know anything about photography, but if it's any reflection on the quality of your image, i'm drooling while looking at those delicious cherries.

That's great, as (obviously) that was exactly my intention :)
Thanks for the kind words.

The cherries look pretty large to me, almost like apples... So i think the droplets wold make them look smaller, and more like cherrys...
Otherwhise- great picture too me.

2 to 3 stops underexposed !!!

Those shots are already a stop to two underexposed. I was going to suggest exposing for longer... it looks too dark to me.

I was saying set the second light 2 to 3 stops lower to provide some shadow depth in the cherries. Here is a quick example of the idea. Please don't judge the image it's shot only to illustrate the look my comment was trying to convey.
