Not sure if others have noticed, but in the last couple of weeks, Lightroom 5 has dropped to $110 on Amazon/B&H, and then down to $80 on Amazon (today). These are pretty steep discounts over the retail of $150... is this a sign that a beta of LR6 is around the corner? I'd imagine that if a beta pops up in the next few weeks, we can see LR6 before the end of the summer. I was about to buy Lightroom a couple of weeks ago, but I'm thinking of waiting until the new release to benefit from future updates. Not interested in Creative Cloud—as discussed elsewhere, it's not likely that LR will be a CC-only software.

Thoughts?

Amazon does that a LOT with software. Doesn't mean all that much. In fact, as I type this, the price is back up to $90.

It could mean a new LR, but it sure isn't conclusive. Because this is definitely not the first time LR has been that cheap, and the last time LR 5 was that cheap, LR 6 did not appear afterwards.

According to past LR releases, LR 6 is due in June.
