Lumix GH4 PDF Manuals Now Available!

Nice to see that they made getting stills from a movie so easy!

Thanks for the link!

Thanks much for this; the instructions look comprehensive, far better than the useless ones that came with my RX10.

On the other hand, I happen to have seen this post just a few hours after I had determined that I didn't need to buy a GH4 to replace (or complement) my GH3.

The GH4 manual is 420 pages, up from 320 pages for the GH3. This appears daunting. However the layout has been improved and also navigation around the PDF appears to be improved to the extent that I think the PDF is actually useful. In the past I had to print out Panasonic manuals in order to navigate them but maybe that will not be necessary with this one.

I always use the Euro gateway for Panasonic manuals.... https://dlc.panasonic-europe-service.com/EUDocs/ and enter 'dmcgh4' to search.

You get 6 pages of manuals in all sizes and languages and the full manual is on page 2 in English at 16.2MB and is 420 pages. Look for the largest files to get the full manuals in whatever language is your favourite.

My links page has some other useful things, mostly Olympus but enough Panasonic to be useful.

Regards...... Guy

Once you skip all the BS about scene modes and iA this that and the other thing it's really only about half as long. I find this one much more usable than previous GH manuals.

I just finished reading the manual from front to back! have had the GH4 in hand for 2 days. I have a Nikon D800 for stills and primarily purchased the GH4 for video projects. The manual seemed overly focused on still features, but then I guess most of those features also work in video. the area I would like to see expanded is some guidance on when to use each of the many video formats. I am sure that is self evident for cinema experienced, but the GH4 will attract still photographers to star exploring the addition of video services to their studios

That said, in my first 2 days I have been primarily been playing with mastering the still photo capability and am quite pleased.

"You could still change your mind."

Nope; I buy on whim. Walked into B&H and picked up a GH3 last summer completely unintended - had gone there for a seminar. Went back a couple of days later and bought a DP2M, also a complete surprise to myself. Very happy with both purchases. Planning is a prison.
