Did take the GN120 out today for a day in Roermond. I did play around with Smartmodes and the HDR especially (which does work better compared to what I tried before with the NX300)

Nicely done; I really like the first one.

When you did the hdr did you merge the shots in light room (cannot get my head around light room after using Samsung raw converter for years) or did the camera do it in house.

Do you know the app to slave the camera to your phone I cannot find it
you start the remote view finder on the GN camera via the sharing tab in the setup widget.

EDIT: I just tried it myself and found that the GN120 does not do the AF so it seems that eventually there is some incompatibility with the last APP version on my tab (which works ok for the NX300 RVF as well as with the NX30 pro version of it)

I have just taken some photos how do I get rid of the Samsung galaxy nx logo in the bottom right hand corner of the image . Apart from that how the hell do you get your head around light room.

Think i have sorted it turned signature off.Now how does lightroom work.

I have found Scott Kelby's book published by www.newriders.com on Lightroom 5 pretty useful. He tends to have flights of whimsy but puts them in an opening page of each chapter so the core of the book is pretty focused and informative. I suppose the fact that Americans do not follow the normal sequence of events which leads to playing cricket means they have a rather different view of life to the rest of the world.

the one key difference is the catalog and the fact that LR will insert the images into that catalog while the raw handling is pretty much similar.

After a while youget used to that image import and export feature
Been on tutorials all day and ytube so much info . Will take it slowly as this is a whole new world to me . One thing when you import a RAW file do you click on copy or DNG ie does light room convert to jpeg on import or export to your folder.
Had a great time today best laugh was an old dear looking at me as if I am crazy going Shoot to the camera .

I do copy the SRW only and avoid converting to DNG...

HAd a similar experience yesterday when one of the group being with me asked how to now get to a specific location and I then opened Google maps on my camera and told him where to go

This face was just priceless :-P

some word on handling the GN120:

as I do have the NX20 and NX30 I am pretty uch amazed that I do like the handling the Galaxy NX provides you. This is mainkly due to the positioning of you right hand thumb and -and this might be a surprise- because of the lack of any hardware buttons on the backside.

You can really grab the GN120 with your right hand while on especially the NX30 I frequently -accidentially- hit some of the buttons (AF in particular)

I did use the 30mm pancake last two days and with that lens the GN120 is pretty much slick in and out of my small Tamrac messenger bad.

I am awaiting to get the 1650 PZ to check if that new pancake zoom can deliver as if yes, this with the GN120 will make up a good travel kit.

I started using LR when I got the NX10. At that point LR didn't handle SRW, so I converted them to DNG with the Adobe DNG Converter to edit them in LR. Even after LR updated to do that, I have continued to convert to DNG in LR Import with all the NX's I have used. Part of it is habit, part is I once in a great while use Faststone to start an edit - FS recognizes DNG's but not SRW files.

On occasion I do SRW files in LR, just to see if I notice any possible advantage over DNG's - so far none for me.

Upon export there are several options for the export file format. I mostly use tiff for editing in another program and jpg if it's a finished product.

Hope this helps some. LR works wonderfully for me, first with the editing and printing, and now cataloging also. I'm still learning new ways to use it to my advantage - which for me is part of the fun.

Something else i have noticed a difference in quality of image over my trusty NX200 even at ISO 200 , but for me as a landscaper the joy is focus peaking (at last) and that rear screen is to die for , it takes the slightest of touches to fire of a shot no movement images are just crystal. If the weather is good next weekend will get out and get serious with it.

Galaxy NX = NX300 = NX30 in terms of image quality. The same processing engine.
