Edit BTW here in Canada I can get the body-only but I'm going for the kit. This is primarily due to fact that the EVF is a mist-have in which case the lens plus grip is coming close enough to free for my purposes.
Would like to see the V3 with the 70-300, but the lens is 550 gm a bit on the heavy side.
Yep, that should be the "birder's kit".V3 + EVF + 70-300.
Assuming we get better AF performance and sharpness than the FT-1/FX 70-300 combo, the above kit should really take off in birders circles. There are lots of ladies and elderly that want the reach, would appreciate quality and speed of the 1-system, and they've got the money. This could be a much needed boost to the 1-system. The potential was always there given the 2.7 crop-factor, and hopefully we now have the lens that brings it all home ;-)
