Sony's A6000 AF System...When will Sony A7s series get it?

i like the positioning of the viewfinder on the A7, and would be in hog heaven if the A7 series had the AF system of the A6000.

how long will it take Sony to incorporate it into its A7 series cameras.

I want to know too!

When that happens...

I would look for an announcement at Photokina.

Developing a new FF sensor is a major project involving considerable investment.

I am guessing this year sometime. Sony needs to be careful releasing so many cameras, they are going to cannibalize their previous models instead of the competition if they move too fast!

Maybe a year or two? Hard to say how quick they decide to move. I doubt they have a capable full frame sensor, and don't know how quickly they are willing to update that one.

Sony is likely to do that when it is time to launch a8 or a9. For now, I am more curious to see how Sony takes a6000 AF system into A-mount. There is a rumored a77 replacement in the horizon with even better AF system said to be announced in May. The FF model, if the flagship, is going to get as much bells and whistles as possible at the time. May be September-October timeframe to see another major E-mount body (or two) announcement, likely a model above a7r.

I doubt a7/7r duo will be replaced this year.
