Finally, the 7D MkII will be out soon !

They're not noisy for APS-C! I also haven't updated my gallery in ages. Those are far from my best pics. In fact most of those gallery pics were posted for a specific purpose and many were cropped heavily.

You probably suck as a photographer and bought a full frame hoping it would transform you into something decent. But alas the 5DII can't work miracles can it Shaun.

Well you called me out for having nothing online so I figured you wanted me to see your photography. I don't see anything more than you pointing a camera at birds so I wouldn't have much for comparison anyway. where's the links to your stuff ???

I do but what's with the anger ? I notice this with a lot of Canadians, strange..This whole conversation is strange

...chop...
Defenders of the 7D "spring" into action. None of them will need the 7D II because the 7D is/was perfect? I think more than just the new technical innovations, the basic improvements to noise and AF will be much appreciated by myself and many others.
Yes, I have much room to improve on technique, composition and creativity but I believe good tools help make the job easier. A cleaner high I SO output along with a more accurate AI Servo AF will make the task of wildlife and action photography in demanding situations, yield more useful keepers. It will be a "good riddance" day to the 7D if Canon has done the job right.
And the same old 7D bashers come crawling out of the woodwork. That small, but valiant band of photographers, who are unable to take good pictures with the 7D, and obviously blame their tool, because, I mean, it can't be their own inability, now, can it? I mean the fact that so many others have been using their 7Ds to take great sports shots, wildlifes, landscapes, portraits, macros, all well-focused, means nothing. They just got lucky. The camera is clearly crap, because it doesn't automatically turn our internet heroes into Sports Illustrated gods, or Cartier-Bressons, or Ansel Adams.
Thanks for the humor! Shall we mark you down in the "won't be needing to buy a 7D Mk II" column?

I keep trying with the 7D. Maybe some day I'll figure out how to use it. It just keeps coming up a little short...eared.

The specs on the New 7D are humorous .... very little over what the 70D has.

sure glad I got the 70. Wow.

See CR.
You do realize, don't you, that there aren't any specs? Everything is rumors right now. There's a good chance there won't even be a 7D II. Your response, therefore, is meaningless.

Of course a person can be a fantastic photographer, but still be such an #$%$%$ that nobody wants to deal with them :) LOL ....or, they can be an average photographer (with a noisy 7D), and yet, be almost as cool / friendly as I am ;) LOL

Peace,

Fish

What specs? All there is is conjecture, nothing more. The early guesses on the 70D were less than stellar as well, yet out of the blue came a well featured and reasonably priced camera with some technology that no one saw coming. Do you think it so far fetched that Canon might not be capable of doing something like this again?

I'm glad you love your 70D and, given the likely size and weight of any 7D successor, it may not be the camera for you. But I might gently suggest that we all wait for something more substantial (like an announcement) before passing judgement on what is nothing more than thin air at the moment.

It's still a great camera. Many people in the world wish they could afford one so enjoy it.

What lenses you got for it?

And I totally have to apologize for making everybody wait so long to see it....

Because I'm absolutely convinced, that Canon has been totally waiting for me to get an "old" 7D, before they would announce the MkII.

Anyway, yea', I got the 7D last night, so I'm expecting the announcement for a replacement, to be made sometime in the next week or so :) LOL

Anything less would shock me ! LOL

Any day now you'll be able to call it the 7D Classic.
unfortunately there was nothing special about it, considering the old 5D 12mg makes better images. I would call it the "good riddance" 7D
Feel free to post your side by samples showing this. Pretty obvious you are just trolling my posts.
Sorry to hurt your feeling dave, the 7D is/was just a noisy 1.6x crop camera that does nothing particularly well
Do you photograph anything particularly well? Out of curiosity I looked to see if you entered any challenges or had a gallery or a link to a web site. I saw nothing. You can still have an opinion even if you can't. And maybe you are a good photographer, I don't now.
So what would be the difference Tom ?? Good bad ? Eh ?
Just wondering not trolling.

It was a bold statement you made and you were asked to back it up.
After looking at his noisy birds and your incredible street photography I feel over matched, thanks anyway
At least I dare post pictures I took and people are free to comment them.

The great photographers of yesteryear I admire, though never pretended to be even close to Capa or HCB.

The topic actually is that you make a bold statement but for some reason will not put your money where your mouth is.

Again, show us some pictures and finally make your point.

Well, the only "real lens" I have, is my 400 5.6. I'd love to have a 10-22 (probably next) .... and then some sort of great midrange zoom. Always liked the 100-400, but since I already have the 400 5.6, maybe the 28-300 ? Then, if I'm dreaming, maybe the 800 5.6, or the Sigma 300-800...

Peace,

Fish
Pretty extreme, from UWA to seriously tele.

I looked up your gallery, to me seems you're having some fun.

Keep it up and enjoy your gear.

BTW I moved from T1i to 7D as well, quite a ride :)

My point was (imo) the 7D is a noisy crop camera. Then you two call me out to put up images ?? So I'm a little confused ?

I am speaking for myself so it's not a "you two" kinda thing. It was your call.

Maybe you confused yourself.

What street photo's I took were you referring to?
