Hi, this is my first test with the nikon 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G. So far I'm quite happy with this lens!

It's a 90 seconds exposure (ISO 100, f/22 and 18mm). Being a Nikon D600, yes, I had to clone a few spots :D BTW, I couldn't correct distortion (the building would be cut) and, well, I couldn't use a wider angle or go backwards (I had my back touching the wall.. perhaps I should save for the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 :)

Any comment would be most welcome!

Cheers,

German

Great photo, nice balance of contrast and shades, but... I can't help wondering... wouldn't this specific subject render better in colors?

Thanks! Yep, maybe it's nicer in colors, I haven't tried yet (generally I prefer B&W photography). The truth, however, is that this is a colorful building (each tone of gray is a different color), so I guess this one is a good candidate for a color picture..

Yes... I agree. I like it in B&W (very jazzy!) and I like the distortion. A well captured image, no doubt.

I feel like Europeans (and other places too) take more chances with aesthetics (like in architecture) and just have a more evolved sense of style than those of us in the USA. I know that there's plenty of great architecture and style in the USA too, but I definitely saw that more consistently when I was in Europe...
