Hello,

The 14mm and the 45mm Oly have been very good to me. I'm going to be doing lots of filming on my M43 camera and I've been ready that I have a good range covered for video. I have also been told that the 20mm is a fantastic lens but at over $250 used I can't justify the price.

For me I don't find the 2.5 vs 1.7 that great of a jump.

If you own these lens or own the 20mm Pany please let me know how you feel about this three lens set up or possibly just my current 2 lens set up.

No the Sigma 19mm will not work with my camera.

(Also a side not. I bought a CCTV 35mm lens and it's really great. I like the distortion and find the flares pleasing.)

I consider the 20mm kind of cursed for video.

on all cameras (that I have tried), it hunts for focus in a very annoying way. On panasonic bodies you can use manual focus with peaking, but you will miss stabilization. On olympus bodies you get the great IBIS, but manual focus is tough without peaking.

If you have peaking and do not plan on using the AF at all would this still be an issue?

I currently have a gx7. I use the 20mm in manual focus mode with peaking and am generally happy with the results...except that it is a little more jittery than I would prefer since my camera doesn't have video IBIS and the 20mm doesn't have OIS.

I am thinking about getting the 12-35 and selling my 20mm just over this video conundrum. You just have to decide how important stabilization is for you. If you are going to be on a tripod all the time then it is probably a non issue.

The 20 really does hunt more than Id like and with my baby moving all around, I've decided to no longer use it for video. It gets annoying. I'm about to pick up a pany 25 so we'll see.

The focus does not bother me and the OIS doesn't worry me either but I think mostly I'd like to hear opinions. Do you think my kit is good with the 2 lenses plus the china lens or should I think about investing it the 20mm?

Also the 12-35 is way out of my range.

Also look at the above lenses for video. The 17 might be a little close to your 14.

I have used all of these, and I find the Lumix 20mm and Olympus 45mm lenses difficult to use for video. Both will hunt rather easily.

However, it also depends on the camera. The GH3 improves the video handling of the 20mm lens very much. See this demonstration here, where the GH3 + 20mm handles virtually flawlessly:

I've found the Olympus 45mm lens to often hunt quite a bit in low light during video recording.

Really interesting. I wonder if these are designed for video or if it's an after thought.
