I am quite impressed with this new X-A1 bayer sensor.

It's the same 16MP Sony sensor as in the other Fuji cameras, albeit with bayer CFA.
Exactly, the light recovery from the a1 would be exactly the same as light recovery from xm1, the x array doesn't play any role on noise or gain ability. All what the x trans does is dump AA filter because it is less prone to moire, that's all. But I see Fuji PR did their job by making xtrans something of a new sort of sensor, like a foevon....
