Exmor-R is rear-illuminated. I think SAR is wrong on this, but we'll see. So far, the RX-100 II has the largest rear-illuminated sensor.

Exmor-R does not mean no AA filter. I fully expect an AA filter on the A6000.

I don't think they made a rear illuminated APS-C sensor. I think they said something about those rear-illuminated sensors around the RX10 release that there was no advantage for it bigger than 1" in the RX100/RX10. Don't know the physics behind it though.

I dearly hope the UI now allows Focus Magnification on the Fn button (or whatever the equivalent will be).

The lack of Fn customization was downright bizarre on the NEX-6.

So far it's looking like a nice upgrade to the 6.

Is this true? I was going to buy NEX 6 for cheap when new camera is released, but this is a deal breaker...

Same. I could have sworn I read that the Fn button is customizable.

I'm using a NEX-F3 now and have the "Right" on the dial wheel set to a Fn button of sorts, as it brings up a programmable custom menu. Was hoping that the NEX-6 had the same ability!

That is indeed strange. The NEX-5N/T have the Fn button with same lack of customization. But the 6 at least has lots of 'Quick Menu' type of controls from the Quick Navi screen. The guy working on that for the 5R never finished the job, it seems.

Besides the X100s having the BSI (backside-illuminated) sensor, so does the Fuji X20.

VERY unlikely that the A6000 will have all the needed improvements. And NO BSI sensor.

BUT: A brand-new 24 mp sensor WITH hybrid-PDAF pixels will certainly be much better than the one in the NEX-7. The 7's sensor came from the A77 and was not up to the job on a short registry camera.

Yes this might be an improved NEX-6. That's not a bad thing; we can only hope so.
