The girls were playful today - I think they sense that spring is coming - eventually!

It's been awhile since I had a chance to get action shots of them, so I'm a bit rusty - C & C is welcome.

Lens was the trusty Sigma 50-150 f2.8.

First three shot in the sunlight, last three in the shade of the house.

Raw processed with standard DXO plus a little extra exposure compensation.

Cassidy (on the left) is six, and Rae, almost twelve and 20 lbs lighter, can still put her step sister in her place!

Dog play is an interesting thing and often quite non-competative, especially between mismatched dogs. My little Brittainy and my neices very large German Shepherd used to wrestle around on a near equal basis for long periods of time. Of course the Shepherd could have dominated, but never really did.

Ahh..but they are not poodles!

Take another guess.

Gordon Setters, I believe. Beautiful looking dogs!

Rae is a Gordon Setter bred from champion field trial dogs, and Cassidy's father was a Gordon Setter show dog, her mother was an Irish Setter show dog - she was a "mistake" at the breeders.

Their coats look very good. Healthy and happy!

Dogs are a blessing to many. Thanks for sharing-brian

Your welcome, Brian - and thanks for sharing yours.

Good diet, regular brushings and monthly trip to a groomer that knows Setters keeps them looking good.

Nice dogs!

I own a Bernese and plan to post some pictures very soon.

Stay alert.

Excellent shots of great looking dogs! Dark colored dogs can be difficult to expose properly.

Take the scenic route! Life is too short to do otherwise.

Lovely shots Gary and it is a pleasure to see them like that. We used to keep Irish setters and Irish or Gordon's they do like to enjoy life. Looking at Cassidy though she is beautiful and it is the first time I have ever seen an all black setter. Makes you wonder why no-one ever developed them.

Denis.
