How good is it? I'm considering Leica X Vario also.

very good, but you need to make the decision for your self (hands on testing!). sold my nikon d7000 & all my lens & not looking back.

cant wait to a couple of of the primes, but the 18-55 is the quite stunning.

It's excellent. I swapped a Canon 5dmkII and a couple L lenses for and X-E2. I'm very happy and consider the IQ difference a wash.

I'm likely to be happy with those two lenses. The 14mm was the lens I was after in the first place and I'm delighted with it. Canon wishes they could make such a lens.

Hi Adam,

It's very good. Have only had it for a about two months, but no complaints so far. I got it with the "kit" lens and also bought the 18 and 35mm lenses. I can only recommend it.

The Leica X Vario seems to be a completely different animal – slow non-changable zoom lens and very expensive for what it is if you ask me. YMMV of course, but for me this is not even a contest.

Good luck with the decision making!

If you're looking for fixed lens like Leica X Vario, then consider a Fuji X10 for about $300 and save yourself $2700 difference.

Cheers,

Luego

Excellent. I also sold my FF Canon gear and went with the Fuji.

Are those file SOOC ? If so, the colors of the XE2 is very different from my XE1. I like colors from the old sensor. Thanks

I've had mine three weeks, and now have the 18-55, 35, and today, the 55-200 arrived. I've nothing but praise for this little cam, particularly after testing the 55-200 today against my DA 60-250 on my K5IIs, which is no slouch.

I was surprised to say the least when the Fuji JPG images clearly outpaced the Pentax RAW files for sheer IQ.

Totally agree with you - X-E1 gets my vote over the X-E2 as well.

Those aren't OOC JPEGs. This has nothing to do with X-E1 vs. X-E2.

You mean are they from the Fuji EXR processor? No. I processed them.

XE2 is indeed very, very good. X-Vario is as well, but you're talking chalk and cheese, and "how good is it?" covers a lot of ground. Two very different cameras, very difficult for me to imagine a set of needs that both cameras would answer equally well.

If an X Vario fulfills your needs, no need to look at an XE2. If you need anything an XE2 offers that the X Vario doesn't, no need to look at the X Vario.

If you're looking for "bang for buck", X-E2 and the 18-55, hands down.

At the moment I'm leaning for XE-2. It will do the same as XV.

XE-2 menus are a little confusing and not enough zoom. I'd like 18-200 or something like that.

I have been leaning toward the X-E2 for several weeks now, but haven't pulled the trigger as yet. It appears that the buzz surrounding X-E2 sensor issues has died down a bit of late. Does anybody know whether or not Fuji has addressed the issue?

Please be more specific. Fuji put the same sensor in the latest/greatest X-T1.

I hope that it's not to much to ask. Can someone post some XE-2 images here with as little as possible processing?

How do you make XE-2 shoot raw and jpg?

Thank you!

I've owned a LOT of cameras over the last 30 + years. Mamiyas, Konikas, Kodaks, Leikas, Rolieiflex, Canon, Nikon to name just a few. In my opinion the X-E2 is an excellent camera in practically all respects. It's a dedicated APS-C platform built from the ground up with that format in mind. The control schema is highly intuitive, the on-camera workflow is very natural for me, the size and weight are both just right. Meanwhile, the image quality is outstanding, equaling or besting every APS-C camera I've ever used. Now, combine that with the XF lenses and you just can't go wrong. In my experience the XF lenses stand on par with the best Nikkor and Leica glass. Others may disagree, but that's my reasoned assessment.
