I know there have been several threads created since the creation of this forum about the Fujifilm X system and shutter vibration/shock. At the time there didn't appear to be any reports about this issue. Perhaps less people were aware of it. So fast forward to today, have anyone seen any reports about shutter vibration/shock with any Fuji X cameras like the X-E1 and X-E2?

Initially some people were led to believe that Fuji implemented an electronic first curtain, but that was proven to be false. Apparently every Fuji X cameras utilize mechanical shutters. So the possibility for shutter vibration/shock exist.

My x100 and xp1 are remakably stable without any vibrations

Definitly an advantage

Not seen any complaints on this forum. I've not seen any issue in my photos that I would blame on shutter vibration. A few unsharp shots due to me / shake / subject movement.

Nope no experience of that for me.
After I sold my X-Pro 1 I had an ill-fated dabble with an OMD EM-5 which had lots of shutter shock issues.

I am now happily back on the Fuji system with an X-E2, the only blurred pictures are due to my mistakes.

Never experienced it with my X-E1.

Zero issues with the X-E2.

Really? I haven't seen any or experienced it at all.

You do know you're in the Fuji forum and not Sony A7r forum?!? ;-)

I've NEX6 (now sold) and XPro1, XE1 and now XE2. The shutter on NEX6 is much louder and vibrates a lot more than any of the Fuji X cameras I own. I XE2's shutter is remarkably quiet and free from vibrations.

Yeah, never any issues of this type with the X-Pro1, X-E1, X100, or X100s. Sounds like internet BS again.

Really?

With my X-E1, I can hear/feel the shutter just a little. Basically, just enough to know it actuated. With my X100, I sometimes need to check that it worked, because it's so silent and smooth!

To be honest, I have never heard/read any complaints about this. Are you sure this problem was in Fuji mirrorless?

Nope. My X-E1 seems fine.

:-)

I haven't seen that in my images with XE1 or X100s either.

I tend to also shoot with high shutter speed where I can anyway just in case and it not a bad approach if you can get the shutter speed up in a scene.

Greg.

Fuji X cameras have no IBIS and therefore no problems with shutter vibration/shock... ;-)

Not related to IBIS. Panny's do it as well and they don't have IBIS. It is worse with the cameras with faster shutter speeds, but there are workarounds.

Nice to hear the Fuji's don't seem to be exhibiting this problem.

Hmmm...

my Panasonic GX7 has IBIS...

and no shutter vibration problems... but only not when I use the electronic shutter.

sorry, but my english is not as good as it should be... :-|

Not all Panasonic's have IBIS.

Also, the Sony A7R (but not the A7?) doesn't have IBIS, and has shutter shock in certain situations.

Hi,

i've never realized "Shutter Shock". The shutter runs smooth and the weight of the Cam ist huge compared with the weight of the shutter. In opposite to a reflex Camera there is no mirror to be moved.

Camera is x-e1.

go into a store and release a Sony A7R and then a Fuji XE2 or Xpro1. You´ll never ask again :)

You won´t have problems with any reasonably stable tripod. It is no Mamiya 6 or Leica M6 but I couldn´t detect one single blurry shot due to shutter vibrance.

Never had any issues with my XP1 and the X100 with it's leaf shutter is on a different level all together.
