I just shot a bunch of pictures and afterwords realized that I had the ISO set to 800.(they actually came out really good).

I think it would be great if there was a custom function that would auto reset the ISO to a predetermined level when you power off the camera.

I have seen a lot of posts where people forget to reset it. I guess in enough time it will become a learned habit to check it.

Well fortunately the 10D images are pretty clean at 800.

I've done that several times with my 707 and it's just a bummer.

I had a similar situation, only I forgot about ISO altogether. I had found a porcupine up a tree and, without a tropid and at ISO 100, with the darkness, all of my attempts came up a blurry mess. I forgot completely to change to a higher ISO.

Not that it bugged me much afterwards, the lighting was terrible and my only lens is definately not what I should be using for wildlife (24-85mm)

This happened to me a yr or so ago. Went to Vegas, turned the ASA/ISO up for some night pics, then forgot to change back, when I went out to the Desert to shoot at Red Rock Canyons. Some shots OK, most not so good.

After turning on the camera press the INFO button - it will show you the most important settings - then plough though the menus if you need to check more...

. . . just like the other exposure settings! Then you would be reminded.

If your really lazy, you can set review to review (info)
Then the histogram the picture and the iso, etc... will show up on each shoot.

Hope that helps,

I tend to forget to return a few of the settings. I am getting better though!
