Hey guys,

I went to Japan with my brand new d7100. My wife is Japanese so I got the chance to experiance some nice things you usually dont come to.
It was the 3rd time I went to Japan and I just love this country for the service, food and for its photogenic places.

Before the D7100 I had a Sony Nex 5N. The reason for switching to a DSLR where because of the slow AF. OVF and lack of lenses from sony.I choose Nikon because of the greater lens selection and accurate metering systems.

And I have to say im very happy with the d7100. It is so mutch more fun to take pictures then with a mirrorless because its a lot faster. I also noticed a way better metering performance then with the sony. Beside that, I learned a lot more about photography because of the great controls the nikon provides - there is a button for almost anything and this gives you the ability to try out different settings easly.

The next step will be to go RAW!

hope you enjoy the pictures.

yeah, they are called "wedded rocks" and symbolice the connection between wife and husband. You can find more info at: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e4303.html

Our main goal in this area was the Ise Shrine, wich is said to be the holiest shrine in Japan. It gets rebuild every 20 years and in 2013 they did the rebuild so it was like totally new. I prefair the old look though. Taking picture also was not allowed and my wife was kinda noisy If I tryed to, so I didnt get any good shots of that srhine.

Its also said that you should visit the "wedding rocks" before going to the Ise shrine, wich again is seperatet in two shrines you should visit in propper order. Followed by rules where you should walk inside the shrine (e.g. right side, not in the middle because the middle is for the gods). Anyway its kinda complex to visit such a shrine (If you mind all that stuff).

very nice pics , i love my d7100 ....my brother was there in november with his son and could not stop bragging about japan
