Is there a way to play internet radio on my Samsung Tab2 Android Jellybean tablet? I have no problem playing the radio on my Windows 7 PC. However, these same radio shows will not play on the tablet. I get a message that the file is being downloaded, but hear nothing.

Hi...I can play the radio on my tab 2, S3 and note 8. I use IHeart radio, Slacker and TuneIn Radio. I also use Winamp which was supposed to shut down this month but is still up and running. Within Winamp is Shoutcast radio which you can access on its own without downloading any of the above apps....you can just type in shoutcast.com and give it a shot from there. Not all stations are in all these programs ....that is why I used more than one. I haven't had the prob you mentioned re: the downloading with these....good luck....nt

You are probably trying to listen via the browser. Have you tried to download a radio app, previous poster mentioned a few, and then find your radio station through the app?

Some phones had an actual radio receiver built in. I wish that was more common so that I didn't have to use my data plan when the radio station was local.

If you are trying to use the browser based streams you might be in trouble if there is Flash involved since there is no real Flash support in the current Android (or iOS) software. As others have noted your best choice would be one off the streaming services such as iHeartRadio, etc.

I use Live365. It works on a phone or though a wifi. It costs approximately $70 a year and provides literally thousands of internet radio stations of about any type music you can imagine, New Age to Klezmer.
