Besides a case/bag, any way to protect the touch screen on M ?

I have always put screen protectors on my cams, none being touch, all screens like day one - years later.

Any protection for M screen ?

TIA!

The manual of the camera cautions against using a protection sheet on the LCD. "It may make the touch operation response slow." Bottom of page 63 of the English manual.

I've never covered any of my camera LCD's whether touch or not. I did have damage on one LCD but it was a deep scratch from a camera bag zipper. A protection sheet would not have helped. It was on a 20D and it cost me around $10 for a replacement plastic cover from Canon.

After having about one million capacitive touch screened phones and tablets over the last few years, many of which have had screen protectors on, I have never experienced a reduction in sensitivity or accuracy when using a decent protector. I think Canon is merely covering itself from having to deal with people incorrectly applying protectors and hassling Canon over why the screens don't work perfectly any more.

That said - I've never managed to scratch a camera screen or a phone screen. So I wouldn't bother putting one on anyway :)

Well... The screen on my old Powershot is pretty scratched up from occasional usage and just laying around. I'm definitely open to some kind of protector for my Ms.

I've noticed though that if a screen protector does affect performance, you can increase the sensitivity of the screen on the M.

I have screen protectors on both my Ms and the touch screen still works.

I got some cheap screen protectors on Amazon. The touch screen still works fine. Disregard the warning in the instruction manual.

I was also looking for a screen protector, especially given with no viewfinder the screen really is your only option, and a scratched screen could make the camera un-usable.

I ended up with the LARMOR LCD screen protector for EOS-M http://www.ebay.com/itm/LARMOR-For-...EW-/330926443415?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:AU:3160

I didn't want a regular plastic thin screen protector like you get on mobile phones as they typically destroy sunlight visibility, and this hasn't disappointed. Pretty easy to apply too!

I applied a cheap plastic protector and I don't notice any difference in the touch screen response....
